SYNOPSIS

Inspired by a real incident in Coligny, South Africa, the film tells the story of a young black man who dies in mysterious circumstances after being shot by the son of a white farmer. While the community struggles for justice, the investigation stalls. At the heart of the film lies a justice system deeply rooted in colonial power structures that systematically reproduce inequality. Against the backdrop of a society in which old racist hierarchies continue to have an impact, the case unfolds with clear references to Germany’s colonial history in Africa. A multi-layered drama about memory, responsibility and the search for truth in a country that is still struggling with the shadows of its past unfolds amid feelings of anger, grief and hope.
